
KOCH NITROGEN TO MARKET CNC'S FERTILIZER PRODUCTION
Company purchases additional interest in Caribbean Nitrogen Company Limited
WICHITA, Kan. – Affiliates of Koch Nitrogen Company have obtained the rights to market 100 percent of Caribbean Nitrogen Company Limited's ammonia production, along with an additional 15 percent interest in the company.
Terms of the acquisition, which closed Friday, were not disclosed.
“This acquisition and the CNC off-take agreement positions Koch Nitrogen to continue expanding the products and services we can offer to our customers,” says Steve Packebush, president of Koch Nitrogen.
Koch CNC (Nevis) LLC has been a shareholder in CNC since March 2003. CNC owns an ammonia plant in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago that began operations in 2002 with nameplate capacity of 1,850 metric tons per day.
Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates produce, distribute and globally market nitrogen fertilizers, including anhydrous ammonia, urea and UAN. The company's fertilizer interests have the capability of producing about 6 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen is a subsidiary of privately held Koch Industries, Inc.
