Koch Nitrogen Leader Named Key Woman in Energy
BALTIMORE – Janelle Reese, plant manager for Koch Nitrogen Company, has been selected as one of the Key Women in Energy-Global. She accepted the award during a ceremony here today.
Reese, a Wichita, Kan. native, was honored in the Wisdom category for her approach to team-building and problem-solving. She is among 50 honorees worldwide.
“This recognition for Janelle is well-deserved,” said Steve Packebush, Koch Nitrogen president. “Janelle's leadership at our Fort Dodge plant is integral to our company's ongoing effort to continuously improve all phases of our operations.”
The award, which recognizes outstanding women working in energy-related industries such as oil, natural gas, natural gas liquids, and electrical, nuclear and renewable power, is sponsored by Rader Energy and London-based Commodities Now magazine. Other sponsors include Bozell & Jacobs, the Canadian Consulate in Houston, the Canadian Energy Research Institute, Edison Electric Institute, International LNG Association, and the National Energy Marketers Association.
Reese, a Wichita State University graduate, is the plant manager for the Fort Dodge, Iowa nitrogen plant, which produces ammonia and UAN, fertilizer products made primarily from natural gas. She began her career with Koch Pipeline Company, LP, in its control center. She has also worked at Koch Hydrocarbon, LP's Oklahoma facility in process control engineering, and in overseeing the maintenance, instrument and electrical systems at that 180,000 barrel-per-day fractionator. Prior to joining Koch Nitrogen, Reese was the Kansas operations leader for Koch Hydrocarbon, serving as plant manager for the Hutchinson and McPherson fractionators.
Koch Nitrogen Company and its affiliates produce, distribute and globally market nitrogen fertilizers, including anhydrous ammonia, urea and UAN. Koch Nitrogen is a subsidiary of privately held Koch Industries, Inc. (www.kochind.com), which owns a diverse group of companies engaged in trading, investment and operations around the world.
