KOCH FERTILIZER SIGNS LETTER OF INTENT TO ACQUIRE CERTAIN FRANCEFERT ASSETS
GENEVA – Koch Fertilizer Trading Sarl and Francefert Sas have executed a letter of intent outlining the terms by which Koch Fertilizer and an affiliate would acquire certain assets of Francefert, a Chesnay, France-based fertilizer trading and marketing firm.
Philippe Schrapp, president of Francefert, would join the Koch Fertilizer affiliate in its France office following the completion of the acquisition, which is expected later this quarter. The transaction is subject to finalization and execution of definitive documents.
Koch Fertilizer Trading Sarl is an affiliate of U.S.-based Koch Nitrogen Company. Koch Nitrogen and its affiliates produce, distribute and globally market nitrogen fertilizers, including anhydrous ammonia, urea, nitric acid, UAN solutions, ammonium nitrate solution, ammonium polyphosphate and ammonium thiosulfate. The companies' fertilizer interests have the capability of producing about 7.5 million metric tons of nitrogen products annually. Koch Nitrogen is an indirect, wholly-owned subsidiary of privately held Koch Industries, Inc. (www.kochind.com), which Forbes magazine calls the world's largest privately held company. ###
